Monitoring Your Credit History

Two major components make up you complete credit history: the Credit Report and Credit/FICO score.

Think of your credit history as a financial transcript, with both components being the complete list of courses you’ve taken and your cumulative GPA, respectively.

The information is collected and maintained by independent agencies called credit bureaus. You can contact any of the three main credit bureaus to request a copy of your credit report and/credit score.
